May be a strange question but do any other of the BE family suffer from tonsillitis at all?

I have just been diagnosed (again) and wondered if there is any correlation or potential cause (chrisrob?).

It is very conceivable reflux may cause tonsillitis - especially if it is acidic. Aspiration of extra-oesophageal reflux will carry it through the throat which may inflame the tonsils.

(I actually had my tonsils removed when I was 5 to see if it would reduce the nasal problems I was having - now known to have been reflux related.)

My observations "Prevalence of Extra-Oesophageal Reflux symptoms amongst acid refluxers and perceived efficacy of regular medication and reflux reduction intervention" revealed about 65% of acid refluxers experience throat issues which could easily include or become tonsillitis.
